Question #1:

Pres. Obama says National companies must pay a basic minimum tax. Isn't this detrimental to the economy?

It increases the cost of doing business in the USA

Question #2:

Democrats and Liberals are the greedy ones.?

You claim that we should tax the rich because there greedy? So hard working citizens are greedy because they paid off their loans and got a good job? NOPE. Your greedy for wanting a share of the wealthy's money. They don't make money for you, they make it for their families. He inherited it, he's a pig! NO, you have the right to do whatever with their money. If your parents want to give it to you, its OKAY and non of your business. Because your not economically sound doesn't mean you should be "entitled" to others. Wealthy people are wealthy for some reason, maybe you work hard and get an education to get your own money and not try to tax the rich for yourself.

Question #4:

Does excess government regulation keep business from hiring that in effect increases unempolyment?

That sort of regulation has been since a good deal of time now,and business knew of the heavy fines connected to such vagrant doings, I would assume that any intelligent poster would already know this and perceive that I talk of silly and unreasonable rules that come from the bench these days rather than from a research and investigative congress. The special interest lobby along with tort lawyers have their filthy greedy hands all over this!
Other than reverse discrimination, black, white, yellow, or green has little to do with clean and safe regulations Warning labels are not just for the stupid,it is printed so as to keep the law suits down from the evil and greedy law practice pimps!

Question #5:

Blurry lines between independent contractor and employee status ?

I am a massage therapist and esthetician renting space from another massage therapist. She always gives me advice but I feel like she is micromanaging me. I pay for advertising and she wants me to put her business name on all my ads and wants me to greet clients saying hi, welcome to (her business name). She doesn't promote me in any way. My biggest mistake is not getting a written agreement for us both to sign because she raises my rent based on how well she sees I'm doing, and also raises the cap that she verbally tells me my rent will never surpass. Should I be clear about getting a written agreement (which she doesnt believe in ) and that I shouldn't have to promote her business since I am independent.? Or does it sound like I should find another place to practice my business?

Question #8:

Any rentable lockers in NYC?

I need some advice...

Every so often I go to NYC to attend business meetings, but when the meetings are over I like to wander around and catch the sights. It starts getting annoying though when I have to lug my work briefcase around, and as anyone who carries anything around for any length of time know, whatever you're carrying gets heavier and heavier, the longer you carry it. Plus it gets annoying when you go to a museum and they have to search your briefcase, particularly when you don't even need the briefcase any more.

Now, they have these types of lockers in ski resorts where you can stow your street clothes, pay 75 cents, lock it up, and take the key with you so that you don't need to walk back out to the car. Does anyone know if there are any places in NYC (hopefully close to Grand Central Station but I'll accept anything at this point) that has lockers like this where a guy can stow his briefcase for the day so that he won't have to lug the thing around with him all over the city? I even checked out a bus station at something or other street and didn't see any lockers there, plus, I asked a few friends who work/live there, and they don't know of any either (although they admit they never had the need to find a locker).

Question #15:

As a step parent to adult children do you just stay out of the parenting aspect and?

not voice your opinion. My fiance's adult children 22 and 26, son and daughter never acknowledge his birthday or fathers day with a card or even a phone call and the same for Christmas but they like daddy's purse strings or that seems to be the way since he gives them a lot of money at Christmas and on their birthdays.

I always seem to get in trouble if I voice my opinion about his children or say anything for that matter. He bought his son a very expensive business suit for his first job and now a couple years later the son emailed saying he was told the suit was not in style. He had a wedding to go to for a weekend. The son now has a live in girlfriend that knows her fashion. I said an email like that would upset me some and he said needed help here and me not making fun of the situation. Then his son had a birthday and I got the dates mixed up since I thought my fiance was leaving on another day for business instead he is leaving earlier and I thought the day he left a vm for his son wishing him a happy birthday was a day late, my goof I know, but my fiance was like omg and fanning himself since he thought he missed his son's birthday.

Should I just remain silent in regards to his children? Just step back and not say a word. It seems like he is hanging by a thread with them and doesn't want to alienate them in any way. He said his ex did a good job of brain washing them over the years

Question #18:

Liberal NYC spying on Americans in Newark, I thought Repubs hated freedom?

Americans living and working in Newark were subjected to surveillance as part of the New York Police Department's effort to build databases of where Muslims work, shop and pray. The operation in Newark was so secretive even the city's mayor says he was kept in the dark.

For months in mid-2007, plainclothes officers from the NYPD's Demographics Units fanned out across Newark, taking pictures and eavesdropping on conversations inside businesses owned or frequented by Muslims.

The result was a 60-page report, obtained by The Associated Press, containing brief summaries of businesses and their clientele. Police also photographed and mapped 16 mosques, listing them as "Islamic Religious Institutions."
